The pneumatic installation tool for clinserts or keenserts need to be adjusted when you start using it!
When you start you need to make sure the set screw is rotated so that you see a white color.

The pneumatic installation tool is a tool, where the torque can be set.

However, the issue is that when setting up the tool for first use, you should first put the torque on it’s weakest. (color white)

When you try to install the insert and you see that the kees or clins do not completely install it means that the tool should be adjusted stronger, you can do this by turning two times on the set screw.

The color shifts then to green.

You need to continue to do this process and stop the moment the kees or clins are installed completely.

You still have the color yellow and finally red.

The reason for having to do this, is that the nose piece will last longer if you use a smaller torque.

Off course in your situation where you do not install many inserts, then you might cheat and put immediately the tool on a stronger torque.

(although this is not recommended)

typically a higher torque is required to install big inserts
