camlock locks protect cash on luxury Queen Elisabeth cruise liner!

The crew of the new cruise liner Queen Elizabeth has the benefit of making cashless payments with a rechargeable payment card.

The new luxury cruise liner sailed on its maiden voyage in 2011. The Queen Elizabeth combines luxurious accommodation and ornate décor with the latest technology. The ship can accommodate over 2,000 passengers and a crew of over 1,000.

Security problems might arise if each member of the crew had to carry money around with them and to hand over cash for each transaction.

Each crew-member simply inserts his or her payment card into one of the machines and charges it using cash. After topping up, the card can be used for day to day expenditure on board.

In order to protect the cash in the kiosks, we selected the P491 high security pushlock, designed and manufactured by Camlock Systems.

The mechanism of this lock uses Camlock’s patented ‘Octagon’ system which offers a major advantage in preventing unauthorized access with a duplicate key. A unique key combination is available for keyed alike suites of this robust and highly durable lock, which can be registered to provide the highest level of key control.
