Why does a concealed base latch have less tensile strength?

As you can see in the foot notes of the catalog, a concealed basis always reduces the tensile strength of the system, in this case down from 2.300 N to 1.200 N. This is due to the position of the mounting holes. If your customer has to stay with those dimensions, he should try the open base or choose another latch from the catalog.
