Subject: Price increase

Over the years we have seen a steady global rise in energy and raw material prices, especially steel. During this time we have worked hard in off-setting these increases with negotiated decreases from our supply chain along with improvements to production efficiencies. Despite our best efforts to keep costs down, we have seen a number of significant increases during the last two years in particular that are no longer sustainable for us. The more significant increases include a 12% rise in steel pricing, a 5% negative impact on exchange rates and electricity costs rising by over 7%. In order to maintain our levels of product quality, we can no longer absorb these costs.

We have avoided raising our prices for as long as possible; in most cases, we have not increased prices for more than eight years. Unfortunately, we cannot prolong the inevitable. Therefore, with effect from 3 December 2018, we will be increasing the price of the products you currently take from us by 8%.  Please be assured that we have kept this increase to a minimum to cover these escalating costs. Any orders placed between now and this date will be honoured at the current prices.
