This Vlier part FP312S provides an integrally machined stud as part of the ball. The stud style base swivel 15 degrees off the centerline to adjust to uneven surfaces and level machine tools, electronic racks, benches, etc. The fine thread makes it ideal for applications which require a more sensitive leveling adjustment.
