What are double slit lock nuts?

Double slit lock nuts, are nuts which are cut twice:

The slotted collar above the metal hexagon is set to depitcht the threads when the nut is tightened, meaning it will grip onto the flank.

Due to the double slit lock nuts, and due to the high pressure they were made, if you turn the nut on your thread, the nut won't lose it's strenght.

Also the prevailing torque and the higher re-usability make it an excellent Auto-Lok Nut.

You can srew on/off the double slit lock nuts approximately 15 times and it won't lose it's original strength, nor will the double slit lock nuts faulty over time.

Note: if you screw on the double slit lock nuts for the first time, you'll need to recalibrate and tighten the double slit lock nuts a bit more, after that, the strength remains the same.
