What's the difference between military and industrial inserts?

The principal of installation is the same for military and commercial inserts.

However, they are slightly different in 2 ways:

1.  Industrial insert are threaded all the way, while with the military inserts don't have that first thread, so the thread starts at the second thread
2.  The keys are different as well: the military inserts are holed, while the industrial inserts are not, you can see here how they're different:
