Question:

The clamp will be located on a vertical plate with locating pins are for plate location.

For the thin-plate mount, does that thickness include making a counter bore for the receptacle to recess into the plate?

The clamp's location of the would need approximately 120N tensile strength and 375N shear stress would be acting on the clamp's location.

How many clamps of QCTH0834-20S/14S would be needed?

QCTH0834-20S

 Answer:

If you use QCTH0834-N (Cam receptacle for thin-plate mounting), the plate thickness includes a counter bore whose depth is 3.5mm.

For a vertical use, we would recommend QCWE1034-14S/20S:

QCWE1034-14S

This clamp has ball-locking mechanism and it can hold the plate securely.

I think a single clamp can be enough, but would like to recommend 2 clamps for the safety.

On the other hand, QCTH0834-14S/20S has inner spring and this spring generates the clamping force when it is compressed.

If the plate receives tensile load which is bigger than clamping force, the plate could opens and there could be a gap between 2 plates.
