The EPT1 electric power tool is now available from Anemo Engineering.

This tool EPT1 has many advantages compared to installing inserts with hand tooling.

The big advantage compared to the pneumatic 3352PTC-1 and 3352PTC-2 tooling

is that with this tool you can set the force on a digital screen.  The tool display of EPT1 shows you the adjustment you can do when installing the keensert.   With the 3352 keensert installation tooling you need to do this by adjusting the red allen screw.  When you adjust the pressure of the tool, you will have to do two installations afterwords, so that the internal pressure inside the tool is correctly set everywhere.  So you will loose two keenserts every time you adjust the pressure. It is recommended to have a low pressure, because otherways you risk the breakige of the mandrel in your nose piece.

With the EPT1 battery driven power tool you only need to throw away 1 keensert everytime you adjust the pressure, as the internal components are set immediately correctly.

Another comparison between 3352 and EPT1 tooling is that the EPT1 power tool is more expensive.  and if your company wants to buy this tool and is located outside Europe, it will be costly as the EPT1 tool comes with batteries, and it is forbidden to ship this in a standard way with an aeroplane.  Anemo will help you though with the necessary safety paperwork that is required to ship the EPT1 tool.

Having said this, the adjustment of the keensert installation tooling is something very important as it depends on the hardness of the mother material that has a thread that is precut, but still the kees have to be installed.

Another advantage with the EPT1 power tool is that it requires low maintenance
