The zinc plating process is the electrochemical depositon of zinc.
There are 2 types: natural white zinc or zinc bichromated by finishing with a chromation.
Saving time latches can be held in normal non-tropical environments, so the temperate countries.
However the latches don't resist acids or chlorids, such as seaside environments.
There are several testing and manufacturing controls:
- BS: resistance to salt pray 72h to red rust
- White rust: decompostion of sacrifical zinc
- Red rust: Attack of the base material of the piece
- Traction tests: control of forces by traction bench
- Hardness testing: Control by a durometer
- Dimensional checks: Controls by a profile projector, digital callipers, digital trusquins, pins, thickness wedges
- Surface protection thickness control: Digital induction devices
